In a twist on conventional marketing, Todd Layne Cleaners and Laundromat was open late for existing customers and people in the neighborhood that were looking to meet their neighbors. Of course, anyone that wanted to drop off their wash or dry cleaning was welcome to do so. As a throwback to a 1920’s “Speak Easy,” food and drinks were served. Owner, Todd Ofsink stated, “it’s difficult for people to meet their neighbors with everyone’s busy schedules and life’s drama.” In his own building, he only knew the girl across the hall, even though there were 47 other apartments in the building.
